Software

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of Izon’s Control Suite Software, Version 2.2. The upgrade provides a number of improvements that further enhance the usability and functionality of the qNano and qViro platforms.

We remain committed to continually improving our product for the benefit of our users, and have taken the time to incorporate your comments and suggestions into the latest version.

New features available in Version 2.2 include:

A Simplified User Interface

A number of user interface upgrades have been incorporated, which simplify layout and improve ease of access to information. The main change has been to move data file handling to a single view within the Analysis window. This new layout makes for clearer handling of data files and facilitates the use of Analysis Groups.

Analysis Groups

In V2.2 it is now possible to group associated data into Analysis Groups, which can be saved and loaded from a single file. Functions such as plotting and filtering are now applied on a group by group basis which in conjunction with the new group data file format allows for a more streamlined analysis and reanalysis of experimental results.

Updates to Charts

The most notable changes in V2.2 are displaying actual histogram plots from the current line series plot. This change is made to make sure that the plot more correctly represents the analysis results. Along with the shift to true histogram plots, chart editing functions have been added to enable a useful display of overlain histograms. Additionally it is now possible to edit various features of the charts produced in V2.2. The current feature set allows for changing the colours applied to data sets, changing the plotted order of data sets as well as formatting the font applied to legends and axis labels.

Multi-pressure Calibration Analysis

Multi-pressure calibration analysis is now available. This advanced analysis option provides improved accuracy for concentration measurements of small particles.

Updates in Version 2.1 Included:

Reaction dynamics. There is improved functionality for analysing reaction dynamics and this release contains the ability to analyse, graph and report information reflecting mean measurements (size and duration).

Simplified user interface. A number of user interface features, which simplify layout and improve ease of access to information are incorporated; for example, the Acquire and Setup tabs have been merged, there is improved data filtering and the ability to calibrate and apply bin settings to multiple data sets.

Improved reporting options. The user can now choose from four reports allowing convenient recording of experimental results.

Izon Control Suite Overview

The Izon Control Suite software provides a comprehensive interface to our nanopore technology platform for both data acquisition and particle analysis.

Our qNano and qViro instruments are controlled from the software based on a range of user adjustable parameters.  Ionic current flow through the nanopore is acquired and displayed in real time.  The software analyses the current trace to identify and extract information from the particle translocation events, including size distribution and aggregation information, particle concentration and electrophoretic mobility. Individual translocation traces, histograms and scatter plots can be viewed and reports created.  In addition, the data can be exported in standard formats for post-processing using third-party applications. This capability allows the user flexibility to perform bespoke data analysis, significantly extending the capability of the instrument beyond standard characterisation functions and supporting novel applications and cutting edge research.

Since the first release of our qNano and qViro instruments in June 2009 we have been committed to expanding the capabilities and functionality of the Control Suite software to meet the evolving needs of our end users.

Between major releases our customers are provided with minor release updates to ensure the latest software functionality and performance is always available.
